Martin Bueno participated in the conquest of Peru. He had come with the troupe of Sebastian de Benalcazar, arrived from Nicaragua. He participated in the battle of Cajamarca in the course of which the Inca Atahualpa was made prisoner. He was, after Cajamarca, sent by Francisco Pizarro in Cusco, and was one of the first three Spaniards, with Pedro Moguer and Juan Zarate to discover the capital of the Inca empire and its fabulous wealth.
